Well my wedding is in a japanese garden, using alot of cherry blossom decor… What is an asian inspired idea for chair decorations?
Thanks!
Jorge
Ever since I was a little girl I have dreamed of having the most beautiful princess like wedding. Growing up I watched my mother go through two divorces and I saw how much it hurt her. So I told myself that I would only get married once and if that meant that I had to wait forever to find that one person that I knew was the “one”, than I would just have to wait. Luckily, I did not have to wait very long. Michael is sent from God that is pretty much the only way I can explain him. I think every woman prays for a man like him. Aside from the occasional “MAN”nerisms, I could not ask for a more perfect man he is truly my best friend and lover.
WELL now that you know the mushy gushy part, here comes the truly devastating part. Like I said, I have always dreamed of a wedding that will blow people away and one that will truly make me feel like a princess. So for the past year I have literally worked day and night to make my wedding absolutely perfect. And let me tell you, on a limited budget with two children, it is NOT that easy. I have had to do everything myself. Just when I thought that I was actually going to pull this off and I was starting to get excited, instead of highly stressed, HURRICANE GUSTAV decided to tear through our beautiful city and completely destroy my dreams of having the wedding I have always dreamed of. GUSTAV ripped through Baton Rouge on Monday, September 1, 2008. GUSTAV was called the storm of the century. This is the most damage our city has seen in history. Today is September 8, 2008 and most of our city is still without power. There are downed trees and power lines every where you look. President Bush came to our city and was shocked at the amount of devastation. One of my best friends who is also one of my bridesmaids lost her entire house, two huge oak trees fell right through the center and she lost everything. Obviously, she had to back out of the being in the wedding. One of the groomsmen has been called to “mandatory” work on the day of our wedding due to damage from the hurricane. Over half of my guests have called me and told me that there is no way they would be able to make it since they either do not have power or they have a tree through their living room. No to mention I have no idea how the garden and banquet hall, where our ceremony and reception are to take place, has held up.
I am so devastated by all of this and I feel like my dreams have been crushed and to make it all worse, I feel guilty for even complaining when others have lost their homes and businesses due to this storm. People keep telling me to just move the wedding back. Well it is not that easy. The place where we are getting married is completely booked up, with the exception of a few days in October and November, but those days are LSU football game days and for those of you who do not know IF YOU LIVE IN SOUTH LA, you HAVE TO plan your wedding or event around the LSU football schedule.
To top it all off, our honeymoon is already booked and we can afford to move it and I cant imagine going on our “honeymoon” before the wedding. Oh and did I mention all of the personalized décor with our 9.13.08 wedding date on it, we do not have the money to redo everything, the florist has already prepared all my flowers, my cake order has already gone through and I still have a few last minute decorations that I need to finish making, but I cant due to the stores being closed due to not having power. I just do not know what to do.
Lastly and the biggest of them all next Saturday the day our wedding is supposed to be on, we have ANOTHER hurricane coming into the gulf, Hurricane IKE and it looks like he is headed right for us.
You only get one chance to get married “for the first time” and since I plan on only doing it ONE time, this is my one shot to have everything perfect and it is being blown away “literally”
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE HELP ME
I have never won anything or been one of those “lucky” people, it seems like everything I have got has been the hard way.
This is the one thing that I wanted to go my way and OF COURSE it hasn’t, but I am trying to not let it get me down. Like I said, I just thank God that my family and I made it through the storm.
WHAT DO I DO…..
opps sorry being with out power for a week .. u forget what day it is.. it is actually the 7th … and to answer the persons question about how am i typing this if we dont have power…… HAVE you ever heard of a generator…
